Greek Mythology blends in with a futurist post-apocalyptical underwater adventure that's sprinkled with a dash of 1980's VHS anime aesthetic. Pilot your "Hoverbike Submarine" and embark on your own odyssey as the Last Aquanaut, defy the "Gods" and the "Poseidon" protocol.

In the last Aquanaut you pilot a underwater submarine equipped with two Manipulator Arms that can be individually controlled with the mouse and used to grab, rotate, position and use various objects from the world.

The game was inspired by Hercules and Atalanta ROV's operated by Nautilus Live and by the ROV SUBastian from the Schmidt Ocean Institute underwater exploration missions.

This is currently a itch exclusive alpha release to validate the mechanics and controls. The plan is to take the game to Steam Early Access this summer. However, I want to look in the sub's controls and interaction mechanic before I finish designing the rest of the content. Exploration and environment interactions are the bread and butter of this game and it's paramount I get this right.

Most of the big plot related locations have been disabled so the story won't be spoiled. There's 2 puzzles in the starting location and a couple more interaction sprinkled around the world. I'm mostly interested in the traversal and sub control mechanics feedback, from interacting with it's various dashboards, picking up and using objects and the general feel of piloting the "HoverBike Sub".

⚠️Alpha 1⚠️ contains about 10 minutes of actual gameplay in the form of:

  • Two puzzles to figure out in the starting temple
  • Two  world interactions involving finding a specific object and using it to guide something else and finding the way to said something else.

Besides this you have the Hoverbike Sub, the systems enabled for it (sonar scanner, lights system, boost, recharging at crystals, robotic arms modules, inventory and targeting system).

With version 0.7.1  I'll start enabling the locations and objects for Act I. Right now, what I care about the most is feedback on using the Robotic Arms and Traversal Feel (driving your sub).
